Bar-Stick Standalone Controller Plans

Bar-Stick Standalone Controller Plans

Postby degenatrons » Wed Mar 13, 2013 2:53 pm

I was talking with Sharpfork about creating a standalone controller design that we can use with KADE. We like the idea of having the hardware inside the controller so it can be taken to a friends house and connected straight to their TV for some instant gaming action. Would be nice if it had a marquee too, so it has a more arcade style look and feel.

I made up some plans for a bartop style standalone controller. The dimensions of the control panel and marquee are compatible with the dimensions of the CNC bartop making for a modular solution were these items can be swapped and changed.

Note that I have since changed the plans to have a bottom lip on the marquee. I think it needs separation between the control panel and marquee to give an arcade feel.

There is plenty of room inside for a PC, Xbox or other system and marquee lighting. Remember it has same footprint as the bartop.

I really dig this form factor for folks who don't have space for a full cab or even a bartop.
